Rear speakers getting distorted

I got a 95 Seville STS with a Bose system in it. The system is fine everything works. My only problem with it is the rear speakers start sounding like you beating a pop bottle with a stick after I get the bass setting so far up. Should I live with this or look for some new speakers? Is there a way to fix or change it? Thanks for any help in advance.

you could just go out and get new speakers and put those in too, for the price you would pay for a decent sub with a box and then an amp all the wires and everything, it would be much simpler to just go out and buy a new set of speakers

That makes no difference. The speakers dictate the ohms. Now a more appropriate thing to say would have been, "Those amps are run at 1 ohm and put out approximately 50watts each." So at four ohms you're getting about 12watts. I just used 50watts as an example because that's what the bose amps in my Q45 are rated at. I would first recommend NOT turning the bass up. Second I would recommend that you buy a pair of Infinity Kappa speakers.

I would recommend that you change the speakers too. All you have to do is unscrew the amps from the back of the speakers. Then take the speakers out. Then install the new speakers, then hook the bose amps back up.

Yea, my only problem would be finding 5 and a quarter inch subs.
