I have a AVIC-N2 installed in my 03 Silverado and I get a strange static like noise coming out of my speakers.  I can only hear it when the volume is turned all the way down and another thing is when I ajust the volume I can hear what sounds like clicking every time I turn the knob.  This might be normal but I just wnated to note that as well.  I am running the stalk Bose speakers and of course I am still using the stock amp.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Blake

what interface are you using? GMOSO4 has a gain control on it so you can turn down the amp input and lose the noise...

I just decided to put new component speakers in so that should fix the problem.

WARNING   WARNING   WARNING

If you put new COMPONENTS in, I HOPE YOU ARE USING AN AFTERMARKET AMP!!!

Yes I know I'm yelling, but it's for your own good.  If you wired direct to the AVIC, you'll blow the spkr-outs.  The stock amps are generally 4-OHM specific, that means if your components run ANY LESS THAN 4, and you turn the unit past 50, bye-bye amp.  (Pioneer HU volumes go to about 60-65)  The amps can get pretty hot too.  Best of luck!

Everything I touch turns to ICE

Yea, I am powering them with a Zapco 350.  Also the Bose amp wouldn't have worked with them anyways.

I think with that post we have discoverd your problem.... you have BOSE? you are using the WRONG harness. You need the GMOS-04 as it's the one for the BOSE interface.

It is all good now.  Since I replaced the components there have been no interferences.
