Ok my girlfriend is away at college, and she went to a party saturday night and lost her keys and the remote for her car. She has another set of keys but not another remote. Is there anything she can do to disarm her alarm or bypass it so she can use her car, just until I can get up there next weekend to fix it. If no one has any suggestions, I'm just going to have her cut the siren wire. Its a Python 871 XP....please any help is appreciated. Thanks

If she has a starter kill installed then that won't work. She will have to jump out the starter kill relay...
Good luck!

The python 871 does have the external relay pack.  However, unless the unit is set up for passive arming, you should only have to perform the disarm procedure with the valet button once.  When the unit is disarmed the starter kill is inactive and everything will function as normal.  The only "fix" is really to buy another remote and have it programmed to the unit.

that's programmed by the installer when the system is installed. they should have told her or written it in the manual( there's a blank to fill it in) but if not; I would assume they left it at the default of 1

even if there is a starter kill on the system it wouldn't matter if you shut off the alarm with the valet button, your disarming the alarm.

The original poster said that if he couldn't get the system disarmed he was just going to cut the siren wire. If he just cuts the siren wire the starter kill (if installed) will prevent him from operating the vehicle. Depending on how it was wired you may or may not have to bypass it.
