Now I know why people stay away from it so much.  Will that make it so it forms to whatever shape you want tho?

What do you want to make. There are different ways of using cf (layups, vacuum bagging, infusion sp?, and pre-preg). You dont have to use a vacuum, but what it does is remove the excess resin so that you get maximum strength. It is vary similar to fiberglassing, but sligthly harder to perfect. It is also much more expensive then fiberglass mat and uses epoxy instead of polyester.
