It sounds like the "max level knob" you refer to is actually your gain control knob.  Read your owner's manual for the amp and do a search in this forum on setting gain controls.  Simply setting the amp to full gain without an understanding of what it is/does can/will damage your equipment.

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

Geepherder is trying to get you on the right track.  You're spending more time posting questions than you are being careful about your wiring.  You have it wired wrong.  The speakers cannot "draw too much power" from and amplifier.  Since you're spending time online here, spend that time in your best interest and do the "gain" search geepherder referred to.  And get those subs wired right...they are out of sync with each other.  Also this:  there should never be a question about whether the wiring is connected securely or not.  Use solder or crimp solderless connectors, one or the other, but make sure the connections are tight.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Hmmm, I'm having no problems now as I said earlier... If they was wired wrong then why does this website say wire the voice coils in series and parallel the speakers... That's how I have it wired.   My speakers havent cut out or anything now, both hit. And I know I have been spending alot of time here but I am getting info from ya'll before I do anything ........ and i will look up "gain controls"
