I am hooking up a remote start in a 2005 elantra and its a stick.

I need to know what colors the wires are and the locations of the clutch switch wire (need to defeat clutch) and the cars neutral safety switch.  I am going to set up a safety feature that will only allow the remote starter to engage if the parking brake is engaged and the car is in neutral.

Thank you,

Isus

HI! there is no neutral safety switch the safety is the clutch switch  hope you are installing  a RS for stander shift  you have to connect  the starter wire (+) to the gray wire of the clutch switch  the switch is located at the clutch pedal braket.

So there is no (+) or (-) pulse from any wire to indicate that the gear selector is in the neutral position?  How about a pulse from the tranny itself?

That's why on a manual you have to leave your car running when you exit the vehicile that way it prevents you from being in gear or the car would just drive away 2005 Elantra Neutral sw and Clutch sw - Last Post -- posted image.

I use Ultrastart 1250M, or the newer 1256M units. Start, keyless units with 2 remotes 1200ft range that are designed for manual transmissions and are pretty reliable.
