i am putting my iPod video into my truck soon, through my alpine deck, i was wondering if anybody knows any software that can help me put DVDs directly onto the iPod and then watch them.  I've seen a few programs but they are like 35 bucks, and a free one would be great, and input is appreciated, thanks.

My sister just got hers for christmas and How 2.0 just had an article on how to do it....
1. Download PSP video 9 (free; pspvideo9.com)
2. Install program (ignore the not having a psp thing)
3. Clicl setup then settings tab. Choose "SP/320x240/29.97fps/768lbps Stereo/128kbps" from the scroll down menu.
4. Choose where you want the converted file to go.
5. Click convert then one click transcode. Select your file and wait.
6. When its done find where the file is and drag it to videos on itunes. THen update the ipod.
Ive done with stuff off of bittorrent. Im putting a family guy episode on there right now. I would guess to get it to straight rip a dvd you would first have to get that dvd onto your computer..... Just did this today so good look

ive used Nero Recode and it works like a charm, take the files right off the dvd, then drop them in itunes after its done encoding.
