wow my post was just lost...anyway https://www.the12volt.com/doorlocks/page3.asp#3wp i used that as my diagram, the unit is grounded well, do the relays need to be grounded? theyre just sitting on bare metal right now

also the unit responds to the remote, any possibility that the problem is with the programming? i cant get the valet button to do what the manual says it should act like

IE, Key on, press valet number of times 1-9 to choose program, then press and hold.
