Have a model RS82, installed it last year and it worked fine all winter.    During remodelling I lost the remote.  I ordered a new one, followed the instructions to erase the memory per install manual and per new remote.  When I powerup the unit it clicks 3 times.  I know that are a cheap unit !!  Anyone with any ideas??

Does it stop after it clicks 3 times. Or does it keep clicking and lights flashing. If it keeps going and lights are flashing they have info on their site how to stop it.

If your unit keeps clicking and flashing lights this is how to correct it:

if you have a 4 BUTTON REMOTE CONTROL:

You will need to take the unit out of safety mode, to do this you will

need to ground the hood pin switch wire, then put your foot on the brake,
next hit any button on the remote and the clicking will stop. Then you will
need to take the hood pin switch wire off of ground and take your foot off
of the brake and see if the remote will work with the unit

if you have a 2 BUTTON REMOTE CONTROL:

You will need to take the unit out of safety mode, to do this you will

need to put your foot on the brake, next hit any button on the remote and
the clicking will stop. Then you will need to take your foot off of the
brake and see if the remote will work with the unit

It's a 2 button remote.  It stops after 3 clicks.   I've tried different procedures, pressing the brake pedal &  turning the key off to on 4 to 8 times.  Completely unplugging the unit and repowering, that is when it clicks 3 times. & stops.  I've tried grounding the wire for the hood safety switch and using the button.  According the install manual, the lights should continue to flash till I program it, thats not happening.

Have you tried programming after it stops clicking? I have installed a few bulldogs and I don't remember the lights continuing to flash until programmed although the units do click when powered for the first time.
