Hey everyone,

I installed a Phase linear Cassette player in a 1986 Regal for a guy the other day, He came back by saying that the FM reception around here is great (we live in the country, about 30 miles from the nearest big town), but in the city the reception goes to a light static, sometimes inaudible.

I would appreciate any assistance in tracking down the problem and the general direction I need to go in to fix the problem.

I am thinking that the problem might lie in the cheap radio, but I hate to tell the guy to buy another new radio.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Jon

You're right, though.  Swapping radios would be the easiest way to troubleshoot.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

Thanks for the help.

I spoke to the guy, and we are going with a better head unit.  I just hated to have him spend so much on a cassette receiver, but he doesn't want a cd player (theft issues).

so thanks again for your help, look forward to speaking with all of you again.
