I have done some searching and have found alot of people fiberglass their dash boards just to have a shiny look, and not actually manipulate it in any way. I have found one way to get the same result as FG without the hassles is to take a little dupont urethane primer, mix it with a little flex additive and spray liberally once the surface is prepped properly. This mixture provides a high build filler, taking out the texture in most dashes, and can be wet sanded and before final paint application to look like glass. I have found this is alot less time consuming than the fg application and wont give you the cheesy result of just painting the stock pieces. Hope this helps some of you.

it sounds like a good idea, ive been thinking about doing this to all of my interior panels, the only thing im worried about is taking off the front plate for the passenger side airbag. im sure nothing could happen but if something did it would be to damn expensive.

The plate(air bag cover) more than likely wont come off by itself, depending on the vehicle. I know most foreign vehicles have a self enclosed unit where once the unit pops, the whole thing is replaced. If this is the case, disconnect the battery, disconnect the leads to the airbag, and remove/paint. I know some gm's have a removable cover, but im not sure. If your not comfortable taking out the unit, mask it off and spray it. Let me say though I am not 100% sure as i dont know your vehicle type. Do at your own discretion. What type of vehicle is it?

Be carefull removing your air bag. I removed the air bag in the dash of my 1997 mitsubishi eclipse. I read that you have to disconnect your battery for one hour to an hour and a half before you start to mess with the air bag assembly because i was told by the dealer that they have a reserved battery supply ( so incase you get into a wreck and your battery gets disconnected your air bag will still deploy) Please just take your battery posts off before messing with it to be safe. Also the wires for your airbag assembly should be in a yellow wire cover.

it is a 98 ford exploder sport, i'll prolly just mask it, cuz resetting airbags is expencive
