Driving lights on with high beams

I am sorry if this has been coverd a million times but I want to make sure I am wiring this correctly. I want to run power direct from the battery to the lights and I want to run the driving lights when the high beams are on. I have only 2 relays right now so I think I will have to run my driving lights thru the wiring harness still but when I switch to highs it should get power directly from the battery. I am going to set this up at the headlights so I don't have to do any cutting. But hey I hope someone here can help me out and sorry if I am rambling on HAHAgimme back my bullets

you actually need only one relay, move the high beam source to 86 (just pigtail it off the existing wire) There are 10 types of people in the world, ones that understand binary and ones that dont.

your diagram is also correct if you wanted to run direct power from the batt to the high beams also, but i dont see why it would be necessary since the low beam source is still being used also for powering the low beamsThere are 10 types of people in the world, ones that understand binary and ones that dont.

yeah I only bought 2 relays so until I get another one I will run power for driving lights But yeah I meant to add the second relay so I would get direct power with both lights on Glad to hear I got it right I have been fussing over this all day HAHAgimme back my bullets

how that looks like it would be so much cleaner to do also. I can just pick up the diode at any radio shack. What does that do exactly? Only left power go thru in one direction?gimme back my bullets

You're right, the diode only lets the power flow one-way.  When the hi-beam source is utilized, power flows thru the diode and activates the low beam relay. When the low beam source is utilized, the diode blocks the power from going over to the hi-beam relay.
