i was driving y car and out of nowhere it stopped on me i pulled over tried to start it back up but it only cranked i didnt start i know its not the battery because my lights work cd player evrything works im thinking it might be the alternator but i want to get someones opinion on that.

Check the fuel pump

Judging with your knowledge all you can do is make sure the fuses didn't go.

SO IF THE FUSES WENT OUT THAT MIGHT BE A PROBLEM?.............IS THERE A FUSE FOR THE GAS PUMP & ALTERNATOR?

If your alternator was bad it simply means that your battery would not recharge so that rules that out. And yes anyhting recieving power in your car will have a fuse, if it isn't powerd it will not work. But my advice just take it to a mechanic.

time for  trouble shooting, do have fuel? do you have spark? go to autozone and get a spark tester (they are like $5) how long since last tune up? could have worn out sparkplugs. does it use a distibuter or crank postion sensor? etc,  timing could be off, timing belt could be broken, thats all i can think of at the moment

THANX BUT ILL TAKE godblessdremil`s advice and take it to amechanic because i might just make the problem worse thanx alot for the help tho
