I just installed a remote start in my 2001 honda accord. The only problem I have is the factory remote will no longer work once the remote start is engaged.  Is there anything I can do to get the factory remote working while the remote start is engaged?

Why do you want to use it? The "new" remote should do everything the stock one did......

sometimes factory alarm will disarm itself when it senses there is 12volt at ignition wire.  so when u engage the remote starter, it gives 12 volt to ignition wire, and disarms the factory alarm.  if it's the case, u need to build a relay to disconnect factory alarm ignition wire input from the ignition of the car.  use the "ground when running" output from the remote starter as a trigger.

hope that helps

comp123, this general subject comes up about every week here.
It is pretty much a standard thing that on most import cars, the factory remotes don't work when the car is running.
It's possible that you can get access to the factory service manuals, find out where the keyless module is, and prevent it from "seeing" ignition power when the remote starter is on.
But unless you have a special fondness for those Honda remotes, it will probably be a lot less work just to put a RS/keyless combination unit in there.
