You cannot import animated backgrounds onto the deck. Only .JPG. Check your owners manual. And as for the speed sensor, this wire is connected to the wheel of your car and basically, your car creates a pulse that fluctuates with the speed you're traveling. The N2 will read this signal and use it to more properly sense your speed rather than keep reading from the GPS. This also helps if you're blocked by bridges or tunnels and have no GPS signal. It also helps your map move smoother, instead of it moving every second or second and a half as it does without the speed sensor wire hooked up. It will just flow smoothly down the screen when the wire is hooked up.
