I’ve a 2000 Honda Civic HX and looking for a cruise control, had called Rostra, its tech said only for DX model, no adapter kits for HX model! Also called Audiovox for CCS100, its tech said none of its product for Honda! But its manual only said for “Magnet Kit”can’t be used for Honda, not the cruise itself! I was wondering with a little creative idea to make the universal adapter work, I think Rostra’s might work; in addition, the CCS100 can used in many motorcycles, why not in Civic, I know my model has a VSS, so it doesn’t need Magnet Kit, just need to know where the VSS wire is? Anyone knows if Rostra’s cruise and/or CCS100 can be used in Civic any info will be appreciated.

If you can find the VSS wire and it has a pulse per mile setting that the Rostra kit can use, you will still have to construct a throttle hook up. Rostra won't recommend the car for a cruise unless the throttle hook up can be done safely or they have engineered a throttle adaptor for the engine. If you don't have a lot of experience installing cruises, DON'T try it. Consult a cruise control specialist. Hooking up the throttle the wrong way can cause serious engine damage or worse an accident if the throttle gets stuck. The VSS and throttle are the only two factors that either allow a cruise to be installed or not. in a worst case senario, yes you can use a magnet sensor for a speed pulse generator.

I’ve Rostra email me the DX adaptor and switch manuals, which indicated for CX/DX/HX model, also located the VSS, Tech and brake wires and the colors just like what DX kit for. The only issue is the pictures of throttle adaptor not exactly the same as my HX, so my next step is heading to Honda dealer to compare a DX model with its throttle and the wheel design to make sure the DX kit can use on HX model.

the SCS3342 vacuum servo cruise or the SCS4342 electric servo cruise is a simple install.
Throttle attachment is easy to fabricate with the included parts.

newguy99, did you ever get your cruise installed?

Have you thought about getting an OEM cruise from the salvage lot?   These people did:

Wonder how much the cruise parts would be new from the Honda dealer?

I think it's crazy that the HX didn't come with cruise.
