Hi,

I installed an AVIC-N1 in my 99 Tahoe yesterday. Everything was working just fine this morning, however this evening the screen is blank.

I've tried resetting it and also checking the parking brake wire to make sure everything is hooked up correctly.

Anyone have any ideas, or anything else I can try ?

I had the same issue with mine. Wound up having to send it out for repair. There is a guy on ebay that does it. It comes with a 1 year warranty as well.

Did he tell you actually what was wrong ?

I think that's the route I'm going to end up taking.

Mine just started doing this. Its wierd thouigh because the Some days The screen light wont turn on and the screen is black and sometimes I will go and start my car and the screen light will turn on and stay on and works perfectly fine. You think there could be a loose connection causing the screen light to be on sometimes and off other times?

I believe it was the ribbon cable.

Man had the same blank screen problem and needed a new ribbon cable. Need some help though. I installed the new ribbon cable part and everything went fine but when I install the unit the screen comes out but doesnt flip up it just stays out and wont flip up. I can flip it up by hand rotating the gears and it works fine it just doesnt flip up when install. One of the gears has an arrow on it. Does that arrow have to be at a certain starting position. Any Help ASAP would be appreciated.
