N2 overheating in hot weather?

Hello. I'm new here and wish I was registering for a better reason than to find an answer for a problem I've been having, but to my credit there seems to be alot of interesting stuff in this community so I'm glad I registered. Anyhow, my N2 doesn't seem to like the hot Texas weather very much. Here's the problem: after my '95 Bonneville has been sitting out in the sun for awhile, if I start the car the N2's screen will flip out and up like normal but nothing will display. I can see the backlighting on the Navi Menu button blink on and off continuously and my power antenna will extend and retract over and over during this process. After awhile (time varies--sometimes may take 10+ minutes), the screen suddenly comes to life and everything is peachy. Now it seems to me like the N2 has a temperature threshold and I'm just exceeding it, but we're not talking extreme temperatures here, just the usual Texas heat, which it should be able to handle. Now, I have found a way around this problem which just confuses the issue for me: if I remove the faceplate before starting the car and then replace after the car is started, it will boot up right away. My power antenna goes up and down once and then stays extended. While this is a pretty easy workaround, I still would like to resolve the issue directly. Does anyone know what's going on here? Here's some system details if you need em: -Vehicle: '95 Pontiac Bonneville -All wires are connected properly and work as expected (including VSS, brake, and reverse) -Unit is about 1.5 years old -Hideaway unit is placed inside a plastic cover that bolts to the underside of the dashboard on the passenger side (the fan has room to breathe) -Unit is stock (no modding/bypassing) And let me know if there's anything else you need from me. Have you tried selecting the manual setting for the screen to pop up instead of pulling the faceplate? I have my N2 in my F350 (diesel) so I have to turn the key on for a few seconds, then start the truck. During this time, if in auto open, the screen will pop open and sometimes I will get the black screen similar to yours. My only recourse was to go manual to open the screen and then everything works each time.

You know, I'm starting to have a crazy problem as well now that the temperature is rising. My wife said this happened to her once back in like Feb/Mar. time, but I never got to experience it myself until today. When I get into the car and turn the key on, the screen comes out but does not stay in its usual position. It goes all the way back to the dash as the unit does when you first install it. However, the adjustment buttons won't work and I can't angle it back to where it's supposed to be. I've tried messing with all sorts of stuff but it's kinda fritzy and I've gotten it to go back to normal a few times, but it's happened like 3 times in one day now.
