Good to know you got the keys out.  Same thing happened to me a couple weeks back now there's a switch inside the car to pop the trunk just in case. :)

I'm a GM fan and have owned several Cadillacs.
Most Cadillacs made in the last 20 years or so have had a power trunk as standard equipment, excluding a few of the base-level rear wheel drive full-size models.
Your Seville didn't have a trunk release button, either above the radio, or in the glove box?

This vehicle needs a trunk monkey. I recommend that you install one immediately.

But yeah, you could have jumped the wire coming from the alarm to pop the trunk.

What happened to the truck release button that should be either under the dash at the steering column or in the glove box?

The car didn't have an aftermarket alarm and it seems like the buttom never existed. Anybody out there with a caddy that never had a trunk release button on it? Maybe they added the RKE at a later time.  A trunk monkey?....Thats what i'm tryin to keep out by shaving the lock.
