hey guys a while back i installed a merlon e330 alarm on a 98 crown victoria and its been giving me all kinds of trouble. when i installed it i ran rellays to the power door locks because as you know the signal comming out the alarm to lock or unlock the door is not powerfull enough what i did i graved 12 constant from one of the fuses and now about 2 months later its poping one of the fuses any ideas where i should get that power from??

any help will be appreciated

are u saying that your door locks are causing the fuse to blow? becasue ive never heard of a car that draws even 1A to lock and unlock. But if you know that your wiring is correct, there should be a large wire going to the fuse, you can get a 12v there for more current. But i recommend looking at your relay hook up and actually looking at what you are giving the 12v to, you might be giving it to something your not suppose to.

ok i originaly got the power from after the fuse and it was blowing yhe fuse under my dash so what i did was i went to the other side of the fuse to the larger wire and now its blowing a fuse under the hood one of those big fuses.

hey, do you know what fuse you are blowing?

also, did you install it yourself?

also, what type of locking system do you have?

because your saying that you had to use relay because it wasnt powerful enough.

At first, i thought relay meant type C locking but reading it again, the word powerful makes me think that your doing something wrong.

Type A is positive lock/unlock

type B is neg lock/unlock

you should be able to connect the lock/unlock wire directly without a relay if type A or B

type C is reversing polarity with 2 relays.

maybe if i knew how you wired up your relay or the fuse you are blowing

Sounds like a 5 wire door lock system

5 wire systems can be wired as positive locks on accident. and hte fuse will partially blow each time you use the lock/unlock feature

this is due to the small amount of flow to the opposite side when the buttons or switches are pushed/energized

i'd check them to see if when you lock or unlock, the opposite wire has voltage comming through it.. even if it's .5-5 volts.
