seems like the HU is bad and it is affecting all the Pre-Outs

I took some cheap RCA's that are RCA to 3.5mm as stated above and ran my ipod to each amp one at a time, and with the ipod paused there is no noise from either set of speakers either with the car running or with the car off.

This leads me to believe the headunit is completely toasted.

How long does Pioneer RMA/ Warranty work take?

It can be anywhere from 10 days to 3 months, but if they determine that you messed the deck up they are gonna charge you for repair

depends on the part, but were still waiting on a part from a customer's warranty after 2.5 months.

Yikes, thats not good i cant be without a radio for so long... I may have to admit further my folly and buy another one... but first i will talk to my local shop where i buy my "Immediate need" audio stuff and see what they say.
