Also, if all else fails, I think there may be a way to buy you an extra two seconds of delay.
There should be an output somewhere on that unit, to interface with the transponder key that some cars have........they might call it Ignition 3.
That output starts to put out a ground the VERY instant you hit the remote start button, a couple seconds BEFORE the unit actually turns on the ignition circuit.
You could take that output, connect it to a relay to make positive trigger, and connect the relay's output to the Ford's main Ignition 1 wire.
That way, as soon as you send the remote start command, the main ignition will come on a little earlier, thus giving the glow plugs a little more time to warm up.
