I need to see if anyone can help me out. I have a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado LT extended Cab with the Bose 6 speaker system, I want to change my current stereo to a Double DIN Pioneer AVH-P6800DVD, I know I need an adapter so I don't loose the Door Chime and notifications. But I went on line and I see that double dim stereos require a 4'' opening, and It seems that my car has that 4'' opening but on some sites like crutchfield.com it says that it won't fit because GM cars have only a 1.5 din opening. But when I measured it its clearly 4''. Could anyone help me out with this, do you think it's ok to buy this stereo, will it fit?
Thank You!

one is the bose/onstar interface, one will give you the brackets to mount the deck and the thrid is the antenna adaptor

American International kit # GMK422 is a much better kit, but the one that comes in the Metra kit will work.

AVH-P6800DVD : 7" x 4" x 6-1/2" Dimensions (Hideaway Unit) 7-1/8" x 1-3/16" x 5-1/2"

The problem is the 6 1/2" depth. The GM radio's are normally shallower than this, that is why Crutchfield says it won't fit.

True BUT, still shouldn't be a problem, I've done AVIC-D1's in there, same chassis.

If it helps anyone out, I just did this exact same install a couple hours ago. 06 Chev with bose and onstar and they got the 6800 deck. Cut out that piece of trash plastic in the back and wire it up as normal. I just made brackets for it and modified a double din trim I had and it worked perfectly.

Would this work for the 2005 Chevrolet Suburban LS 1500 also?  It doesn't have the bose or Navigation installed, but it does have a 4" opening.  Any help would be appreciated.  I want this stereo badly.

Thanks,
