http://www.lesschwab.com/wheels/plussizing.asp Look at the wheel and tire sizes here.....from a 14 to an 18, and gained less than 1/4 inch. From where the wheel mounts to the car, thats 1/8 inch on top and 1/8 inch on the bottom. Thats acceptable in a +4. You have gained OVER 1.5 inches. That not gonna work. Speedo, milage, AND the actual miles on the OD. It's gonna get lousy milage, your gonna be goin 8% faster than the speedo shows, and you'll put more miles on it than you have actually traveled....not to mention, put a couple of your buddies in the car and go for a drive. The choice is ultimately yours, but I have provided you with enough information to help you see......it's the wrong choice. Your fenders are gonna look terrible with all those wrinkles in them too. You need a 215/35/18 to even come close to a proper fitment.

I've modified alot of Civic's in the past and knowing the way they are set up....... yours must look like a Tonka Truck ! If you haven't lowered the car yet, you WILL have issues with the tires rubbing once you lower the vehicle.

Respectable coilover brands are Skunk2, Eibach, Ground Control & Tein. Any one of these are great companies to go with but expensive.

My friend....these tires and wheels are the wrong size.....lift and lower all you want. They still are the wrong size.

Since this probably already looks rediculous, have you tried the old baseball bat trick?  take a wooden bat, put it on the tire and roll the car foward, letting the bat roll the fenders out.

get the right size wheel and tire combo. a 235/40 is nowhere even close to fitting on a civic.... and raising it would just look absolutely rediculous... more so than how it probably looks now with 18's and stock ride height. how wide are these rims and what offset??
