Does anyone on here know anyone at Sony, or have a friend who's cousins' twice removed aunts' lesbian lover who might????  I have had it way past my boiling point with this place.  Yeah, I know "That's what you can expect out of Sony".  First of all I tried to talk the wife into an Alpine, Eclipse, or something better but she just Had to have this CDXM-7815X.  The unit looked cool. What else matters right??  And for the first six months it was a pretty decent unit, lots of adjustments, neat display, better than expected sound.  Then it happened.... the laser transport mechanism quit transporting the laser. Yahtzee, no more CD player. After fighting with Sony customer lack of service for literally hours, they authorize me to send it in for comparable model, refurbished replacement.  Then 17 days later, with a big hole in the dash, and my trusty MP3 player, lo and behold the friendly brown truck comes.  I open it up, expecting to find a completely different model deck.  Nope, same POS I sent in, with a repair order saying it is working properly after they replaced a part.  I install it, it works.  Set all the settings, tell her not to play any burned discs, bla bla bla. I kid you not, it played 7 tracks off a brand new Hinder CD, and crapped out again.  B E A utiful.  I have spent almost two more hours on the phone, and was supposed to have a call tag to pick this piece up again, for a guaranteed working refurb unit, last week.  Now I think they are blocking my number, as all I can get is the "friendly" people at the call center in India.

Sorry for the rant, but does anyone have any ideas, other than to use the thing for M16 practice?????  Thanks.

Throw it in the trash and consider it a lesson learned.
