Both the wires meter properly but it won't arm. ANy suggestions how to arm it with the new remote? ALso I can not seem to find the trunk release wire I didnt have it on my schematics

You didn't mention what brand and model RS you are installing. That might help to diagnose the "no arm" problem.

With some systems a "no arm" condition means an entry point is sending the wrong polarity to the brain. However, it could be a programming issue as well, without more specifics we can only guess.

The DEI wiring above should help with the trunk release. If you don't understand a "5 wire" relay setup, post back I will explain. It's easy.  I am a fairly new member, but I bet you can find plenty of info here about relays, with diagrams as well.

Good luck

Thank you all for the help.
It is a compustar, 1WAM-A.
I do understand the 5wire, that is no problem. The arm wire does not arm the factory alarm, how do i integrate the factory remote? I have to leave one of the factory remotes in the car?
Thanks again

If it's RF rearm, then you have to use the factory remote to rearm the factory system.... all my database says is type 1 rearm... I'm waiting for an answer on that one! anyone?

Ok, sorry I don't think I can help on this one. Not familiar with the system you are using but regardess, seems this has more to do with the particular vehicles arming process.

I also use directechs so I have the same info as posted here as far as vehicle wiring.

I have not come across this problem yet. I would wire it as DEI states, which i imagine you did. (it lists the wire for factory arm/disarm (-), but apparently that is not working for you (odd).

I would need to be "hands-on" with the vehicle before making a suggestion that can remedy this situation, if possible . But this is not the case.

We can only hope someone else has come across this, found a solution, and can post what they did,

I wish you luck. If you find a solution on your own please post so if any of us ever come across this dilema we won't be in the same boat you are in now...thanks.
