here is a pic of some door pods i did on this car.... https://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q39/integratyper934/bousdoorpods2.jpg also a false floor pic 2 12w3v2d4 in a sealed box with a 500/1 lit up with a blue neon. shape is kinda wack but wat the customer wanted. https://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q39/integratyper934/bousfalsefloor.jpg    https://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q39/integratyper934/bousdoorpods.jpg
On these pods, how did you fab the base?  I'm thinkin fiberglass mold of the door panel?  That just occured to me now.  I was planning on having to do the base out of mdf but I guess I could lay glass on the door and then cut out the shape I want and build onto it.  Sound about right?  Did you have any kind of gap issues between the pod and the door?  Usually when I build something, I rabbet the edge to allow the finishing material to have a channel to lay into so that the panel sits flat against whatever it is mounted to, but you can't rabbet the glass.

I havent started on the civics doors yet but when I do pics will be posted. I prefer have unlimited access in designing to the door panels, so I will be molding the whole panel, and use the factory clips to hold the panel in place. But there's also other ways to do the job. It all depends on how custom you want it to be.

i taped the door up really nice and used the whole tape/aluminum foil trick. made the mold, and ring jigs glassed, then bondo matched the warped areas. when i vinyl wrapped it you dont really need room for the cloth as long as you wrap it nice and flat. the negative curve on the back was harder than imaginable to vinyl.
