This topic bothered me for weeks while I was doing all my wood work and this is what I did so I hope it will help the next guy. My subs called for one cubic foot each so I went to the ups store and  they have a box it's only like three bucks and the inner dimensions were 12x12x12 we all know this is one cubic foot. Then will I was walking around in fred meyers I notice you can buy a big bag of the small bean bag peanuts for like ten bucks. I put as many peanuts as I could in the box and then dumped it into my chamber this gave me an idea on where the speaker ring needed to be placed and at what angle to make up for the peanuts that wouldn't fit in the enclosure. Unlike traditional wood boxes there is no science for airspace in fg enclosures but I hope this will help some of you.

Thanks for the reply but this was not just about the peanuts I wanted people to know were they could find a box with these dimensions in hopes to make it easy. They talked about using a five gallon bucket to measure well it takes seven and a half gallons to make a cubic foot  you would need one and a half buckets but because of the taper the bucket has IMO this is not accurate. Secondly when you pack peanuts to calculate airspace you need to take into consideration the small air pockets inbetween the peanuts I gave a good resource for the smaller bean bag peanuts (smaller the peanuts smaller the air pockets).
