Fliers (store message boards, Banks, any where else you could think of) every person you come in contact talk about an install you are doing that day (lie)  chances are they might want one they will ask you how much then you give them a price and a business card. ( cashiers, bank tellers, people you run into)
I dont care about who has the bigger name in the business... The Bigger the name the Bigger the price. NO BETTER QUALITY!!!

I use those annoying flourecent highway signs in my area and I get about 15-20 calls per day with an average of 40 % bookings. I know that they are being read because the customer usually says " I saw your sign on the highway for remote starters.... "

Newspaper  and radio adds. I heard advertising on AM radio is probably the best.

Depends on your location and demographics in the area... My shop is located in a "rural" but fast encraoching suberb of Mpls St. Paul. I target the "wealthier" suburbanites rather than the farmers. Newspaper mostly wheels section and regional section. Word of mouth is the best!   There are a few Hacks around here and no thanks to the idiots in the media [running a story on rs]they got a bad name here because of a reporter not going to a "qualty" shop and asking the correct questions. But things are deffinitly picking up. Up here radio is really good, but expensive. Dealers are ok, but they are not loyal [at least not here] they beat ya up on priceing and want things done NOW and will go to anyone who will do them NOW and the cheapest. I try to deal with the local dealers more than anything, not the guy who ownes 30+ accross thetwin cities. The local mom and pop dealers will stay with ya as long as you work with them and are fair.. They know the value of a good product and service.. Their customers come back and buy all their vehicles from them. Unlike the big guys, who tend to make customers upset due to their high pressure tactics..
