  I just installed a viper 160xv in my truck. it replaced a crimestopper rs. the crimestopper was working fine and now the viper will start the truck for about 20 secs and then die.  any suggestions?

is the tach wire hooked up? Check that

I tapped into a pink/white wire in a harness on firewall on passenger side. when i disconnected it the truck would die right away.

Most remote starters have some form of diagnostic mode. Try using that to determine the last trigger. Perhaps the unit is seeing something which would force it to shutdown?
