so the only thing that changed is the antenna?

I currently have a matrix RSIII so I was wondering if the connector match up so I can just swap the units and antenna only.

I thought the "brain" would send power to the new antenna and therefore the old "brain" would not work.

Can someone verify this for me please? Thank you.

Thank you very much. Thats what I though but I was unsure, now, are the connectors in the RSIII and the new 50.5X the same on the "brains"? Just so I can swap brains antenna and remotes without having to cut and solder new wires.

why go through all that trouble of purchasing and switching out the brains, antenna, and remote if it's just to get a better range?  That doesn't sound economical..  And how many people actually need to start their car a mile away

Is not to remote start the car a mile away. There is some of us that work in office buildings or live in aparment complex that we have to park far away. If someone is tampering with our vehicles we would not be able to respond to it with regular 2-way alarms. But with this new system we can.
