I like that amp too. It was the first amp I ever bought and I got it at a pawn shop of all places. It still runs good, hell back then I knew nothing of clipping or crossover points, so I know I drove it in clipping half of the time and it still runs good today. I would still hook that amp up to your speakers and try it out anyways you wont harm those speakers by giving them too little power unless the gains arent set properly and it goes into clipping

Yeah, nothing wrong with that amp, it just ain't got much kick. But try it, it may be plenty for you.

How about 2 ohm? Series the DVC's (1 ohm), then parallel both subs (2ohm).
About the box, they have different sounds to them. You should audition. Generally the ported is louder & looser. Also depends on those drivers - are they designed for sealed or ported? Qts parameters?

driver = speaker
DVC = dual voice coils
Qts = Thiele/small parameter for box type, should be listed with the speaker's specs (sometimes) or on the manufacturer's website.

I might Change to An MTX rt2400 and keep all the other factors the same..
here are the stats:  http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/archive/rt2400.cfm
So any suggestions? Good idea? would it make a difference?
