i have had my alarm for 2.5 years and i think its goin out. its a dei and it doesn't work some times and the locks, lock and unlock on there own some time

My astrostart was in my truck from 1999 till last Feb when I sold it.....Flawless.

As you can most likely tell, I am NOT a fan of DEI products (even though they own astro now) You could have a preoblem with the install...a connection working it's way loose... The thing to do is access the spots where the problems are happening. You said the locks were giving you problems. Get tto in the car where the lock wires are, check the relays that control the lock's etc. Check the ground for sure. Give a good visual inspection.

Check the ground on your system. I've seen wierd stuff like a bad ground causing the door locks to lock and unlock because the module will start to ground through the doorlocks.

i had an older Clifford unit in my Bimmer back in the 80's-90's for about 12 years with no problems at all.....
