I found some threads about killing road noise with gutter tape so i applied a layer to my drivers side door. I pulled the door panel off and stuck it to the outside of the door frame. I didnt really nottice a difference in road noise and was wondering if i applied it incorrectly or if its because i havent done all of the doors yet. suggestions/comments? are there any articles on how to best apply this stuff?

Gutter tape.....hmmm. ?

You want to put the first layer on the inside of the outside door skin. THEN put some directly behind the door panal itself.

If you have the product...and it was cheap....load the stuff on. You can't use too much.

Road noise does not always come just from doors, but floor of cabin and firewall. Depending on the vehicle you may have a hollow channel underneath the floor along the sides. I used expand foam to fill. Inside I used 2 bulkpacks of Dynamat Extreme to sound dedden floor, doors, firewall, ceiling and rear panel of my truck. The difference in noise is amaizing. Aprox. half the noise is eliminated. Also sound barier undercoating helps. Be aware you will hear more noise coming from inside cabin.

gutter tape is terrible stuff. it does not stick the way real sound dampener does. it will fall off guaranteed. Save your money and invest in the real deal. raammat is the best bang for the buck on the market today.
