Okay.. i have figured it out... silly mistake by me... i didn't connect the 2nd starter wire since the alarm had only one starter output... so i connected 1st and 2nd wire to the starter ouput from the remote start module and now it works fine!! hehe thank you guys for all your input..

oh yeah one more thing.. whenever i start with a remote start and then i put my key in the ignition and turn it to ON position there's a little ping noise coming from somewhere around the starter... it doesn't grind but a short ping noise... any ideas?

That was a common problem with the Xterra. You need to fix it, what you hear is the starter engaging for a split second. It's gonna tear up the bendix after a while. The repair needs a relay, and the object is to disengage the starter wire when ever the RS is activated. Wire the relay like this...

85   12volts

86    negative output when remote started

30    starter wire, keyswitch side

87a  starter wire starter side

cut the starter wire to do this, like adding a starter kill on an alarm. The RS starter wire should be on the 87a side...

Thank you so much for the info.. i really needed this...

I have one question... On the 86 pin i need to use a negative output that will go away while cranking right? so that the starter wires are engaged while cranking then disengaged once started...

I have a accessory 2 wire on the alarm system that provides negative output when remote started, go away while cranking and then comes back on... will this wire work for the 86 Pin? thank you...

Why does xterras have this problem? what is making the starter engage for a split second?
