I recently installed a Prostart CT3300 into a 2004 Alero and it work great.. the other day she called and said when she remote starts it, the engine service light comes on and when she puts the key in it remains on. When she starts it normally with the key, the light doesn't come on. Now I did another Alero a couple of days after but the only difference was I used a Prostart CT3400TW with feedback remote.. both cars I installed a GMSL for the bypass.. Anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong?

Thanks

kinda sounds like either you didn't hook up the 2nd ignition and/or 2nd accessory. I have NEVER had to hook up the 2nd accessory (brown) in those cars. I remember ONE time I had to hook that up on a trailblazer, but thats it. The 2nd ignition does have to be hooked up however, I believe that wire is green.

On some Chevy's if you don't hook up the 2nd IGN wire or have it set to something other than 2nd IGN output, the vehicle will not stay running ( but will crank ). Check to make sure that you have the jumper on 2nd IGN on the side of the module for the CT3300.

Yes I hooked up the second accessory line.. the engine service light started coming on after a week of use. It was working fine. I connected to the positive lights at the BCM under the dash on the passenger side.

Sounds like a poor connection at the ignition.

sounds like ingnition wiring problems to me, and i too never hook up the second acc. brown wire on these cars, just never found the need to i think it controls the radio or something, yes you have to hook up the second ign. green wire.  if you did that test the second ign. wire from the unit during remote start, and during key crank.  do you only see 12 volts there when you use the key and not when you remote start? if so then the module's internal 2nd ign. relay is dead just the other day i found that on a viper 5500 at work,  the 2004 sierra truck transmission was in limp mode and the check eng. lite was on,  checked the pink/white wire from the relay bank and no volatage during remote start.  changed the relay bank cleared the eng. code and bobs your uncl .  starter units do fail from time to time.

what kind of bypass did u use? i had that problem when i used a directed 457gw.. it would only come on with the car was remote started. but not with the key. same thing with a pk 3 i did. i used a 555lw and it worked fine, but not on the pk3, some times its just something that will have to deal with because it throws 2 codes when remote start it, then the key put it.
