I lost my dome light after I bought and, installed my new Pioneer radio. I have a 97 Honda Civic without keyless entry. There was two plugs that went to the factory radio, so I purchased a wiring harness from Circuit City, and installed my new cd player. Everything works now but my dome light when the door is opened. If you turn the switch on for the dome light it works. I have a Haynes manual for my car, and it show my dome light wires going to my factory radio. It show a input wire and an output wire. So my question is does anyone know if I can make a jumper wire to join these two wires together without messing and thing up. Later on I plan on installing a remote start / alarm and I need this functional to work proper.

I can't remember if it is 97 96 or 98 civic but one of those you use to have keep the radio hooked up in order to keep the factory keyless working  I can't remember if the dome lights were also tied in but if that is the case you can get a harness that T's into both the factory and you new aftermarket. maybe somebody with a better memory knows exactly what year or if it even the case with your dome light not working

you dont have keyless so you dont need to keep the factory radio in the car but i believe it is 96-98.  In your situtation all you have to do is jump those 2 wires from your manual.  that should save you some time from reading that other thread.

Hey thanks for the input. I know that  my car doesn't have kwyless entry on it so i will use our method. the keyless entry i found out also uses a different color harness for keyless, and it's blue, or depends on the model it uses two green plugs which i was told. But thanks again for all your help.
