Hi,

I am noticing that alot of the 06 civics that we do and some 07 RDX are having the same issue. In the mornings the car does not start during remote start. It tries 3 times than shuts off. But once the car has be driven it starts no prob

It is a bypass issue I believe

Anyone have any light on this.

We use the Honda SL3 & Honda SL2

You need to determine the problem before we can make a recommendation. My guess would be either tach, or transponder. You need to watch what the key symbol does in the instrument cluster when trying to remote start in the morning. It should behave the same way remote starting, as it does when starting by key. If a customer isn't willing to leave it overnight so you can see the problem, have them go out to the car in the morning and watch the key symbol. Also, have them describe what the car is doing. Cranks for a while...then stops, doesn't crank long enough, starts for a couple seconds...then shuts off?
Are you using tach, or voltage sensing?
What brand remote start are you using?

We've had quite a few brand new Hondas needing new batteries before the customer even gets their car. The past 6 months or so, the brand new lot Honda's have done this. They wont remote start, but soon as you put a jumper on the battery, fires right up. So when this happens, the Honda technicians load test the battery, and about 95% of the time, the battery is faulty from the factory. No idea why, bad batch maybe. But warranty from the service dept. always put a fresh new battery in and we never hear from the customer again. Problem solved. Hope this helps ya.

I am confused now.

COMPUSTART IS THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The problem is the Compustart unit not a bypass at all. I have been replacing Compustart unit on 06 Civic this entire three week with my other brand Autostat. No more calls about not starting in the morning. I think it has something to do with the tach signal at the injector when the temperature drops.

Only one way to find things out.
I aways use tach, so you will have to post your finding.
