Hi, I recently put a JVC receiver in a toyota previa van for a friend. It worked for a few minutes, then immediately started making a groaning noise through the speakers (only while the engine is running) and died shortly.
I have a new receiver but I'm scared to put it in. It was wired correcly, BUT I'm measuring about 14.95volts out of the yellow and about 14.50 volts out of the red power wire. I have a good body ground.
We suspected the voltage regulator since it also blows dome lights out, but a shop tested it and wouldn't put one on becuase they said it was fine.

Standard for pretty much all cars is 14.4 volts.
13.8 volts is more realistic though
