Yes, the second starter definitely needs to be hooked up.
Everything is set up pretty much the same as the 2004-2006 Maxima, except for the addition of the Intelligent Key.
Since the customer is already carrying the Intelligent Key, there's no point in hooking up locks, trunk, or panic......I would just sell them a simple, 1-button remote start. (The factory alarm disarms automatically when starting; no need to worry about that.)
For the transponder, these are your three options:
1. from bypasskit.com, buy XK07, with PKN3 firmware. Customer keeps all their keys, and car cannot be stolen when remote started.
2. Take valet key, put in bypass box. You must connect remote Customer will not be able to turn the ignition switch when the car is running. Instruct them to hit the brake, kill the remote starter, re-start manually, and drive away.starter's Ignition 2 output to the car's keysense wire.
When you do this, it is possible to turn the key cylinder and steal the car when it is remote started. You might want to wire up the remote starter to shut down when the cars doors are opened.
3. Take the valet key, put it in bypass box. Buy a timer relay, and set it up to trigger the car's keysense wire for the first 10-20 seconds of remote start; after the relay times out, the car will remain secure.
Customer will not be able to turn the ignition switch when the car is running. Instruct them to hit the brake, kill the remote starter, re-start manually, and drive away.

So with any nissan/infiniti smartkey --- the customer will have to hit the brake first to shut down the car in order to restart the car manually to drive away?

ugh .. that's depressing, but at least they can warm up their car i guess.
