resistor with woofer to amp?

I have a Orion amp that i would like to run at one or two ohm's becouse it puts out alot more power at lower ohm loads.I want to do this with 1 woffer that is 4 ohm's.Iwas told it could be done with a resistor but i could not figue out what resistor i needed on the resistor page.Is this possible? and will it dammage the sub?

Think about it, Derek.  You've got a 4 ohm load (the woofer) and you want to add another 4 ohm load using a dummy resistor load.  The woofer actually makes sound but the dummy load only turns power into heat.  You're making the amplifier work much harder and using a lot more of your car's energy resources, while the sub is still putting out the same power it would put out if you just attached the sub to the amp at 4 ohms.  The other half of all this "extra power" is burning up in the resistor.

Dummy loads are used for testing, by the way.  Here is an example.
