A few years back I bought a set of 12" Alpine type R's and did an inverted install in my 82 Firebird. I would like to put a set of the rubber rings that act as a gasket as well as cover the scews that secure the sub to the box. Does anyone know if these screw cover rings will fit the older model of the Type R? I was also thinking the rings might be the same as what is on the Type E's and Type S's although I haven't had much luck finding out. I've contacted Alpine numerous times about getting a set of these rings with no luck what-so-ever. Ideas?

You can use door weather stripping material as well if you want to improvise. Get 1/16" -1/8" foam weather stripping and this will work out perfectly.

I've thought about this but I'm not sure if it will be enough to cover the screw holes. I guess I'll have to give it a shot.
