trouble with alpine iva w200

i have a alpine iva w200 head unit, i got sound but an extremely dim picture. i did manage to turn up the brightness up all the way, but you still cant really see anything. all the connections look good, and iv tried reseting it a few times and still cant get it. any ideas?

Make sure all your wiring is neat, clean, and not jumbled. Other than that it could be internal and need repair. Good Luck.

did you by chance hook up the dimmer or illumination wires?  I'd check those first.

only time i even use illumination wire is with nav systems...99% of the time i just cap em off. Check on what burns25 said and post back. You may either need to take it back to where you bought it from or send it back to the manufacturer for service.

there is no dimmer or illumination wire. the lights on the buttons work, just not on the monitor

Yeah just (double, trible, what need you) check your video inputs to assure they are tight and not too close to power/ground wires. That's what it seems to me.

Otherwise you may need to have it serviced.

Go into the settings, I bet the dimmer is set to ON or Auto...Turn it OFF

Isondubz: He doesn't have an illumination wire. How could the HU have an on/auto dimmer function?

because that head unit has a light sensor and the darker it gets the darker the display gets if it's on auto. (bright sun = bright screen so you can see it etc...)
