any ideas or info on how i can build a speaker selector or switcher using relays. What im trying to do is run a set of 5.25 2 way speaker in the back of a box truck. I would like to be able to switch between the rear speakers mounted inside the vehicle and the speakers in the cargo area of the box truck.

You need a deck (Tape player, Cd player etc.) that has four speaker outputs then you can fade from your two speakers in hthe cab and the box in the back.  This is the easiest way of doing this. You could use relays that could do this for you but you would still need a switch to activate the relays.   Good luck.

I left out that you need to wire the front and back speakers together in parallell or series to the front speaker outputs, depending on the impedence of the speakers and wheather or not your headunit can handle the extra load.  Sorry.

you could do it, just have the speakers in the car on the normally closed side and then when the relay is activated have the other speaker on the normally open
85 - ground or ground trigger
86 - B+ or pos trigger
30 - signal in
87a - signal out to interior speakers
87 - signal out to speakers in back
do you have an aftermarket car alarm? i have mine setup to turn various things on and off in the car just like this.
if you dont, you can just send +12v to pin 86 to trigger the relay and ground 85
I guess you will need two relays, one for each side.

Do I need to use the positive or negative speaker leads? If I only use one of the leads what do I do with the other? I appreciate the help! visual aids are always a plus.

oh, good call! yeah, you will need 2 relays per side.
once you get 4 SPDT 12VDC relays, read https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_topics.asp?fid=5
