hey guys i was thinking of replacing the factory flooring with some type of house carpet....it seems all i have to do is get some carpet, cut it so it fits in the same area as the factory carpet/floor  and just lay it down...has anyone done this? as easy as it seems?

house carpeting doesnt conform to curves nearly as easily. also the flammability of house carpet is different than automotive carpet. I'm not saying you cant give it a try. I had a 74 full size chevy blazer that i used house carpet in (it was really hack, by no means meant to be my best work(actually my worst work)

Been there... done that... A customer wanted casino designs for his vehicle... we found that cut pile carpeting works best for this, but expect a LOT of hell for the contours. Another project we did used outdoor carpet with the rubber backing on it. It forms a lot better, but there is still a lot of work.
