2007 dodge ram factory security light

Anyone have any clue what the red light that is flashing is in the instrument cluster is? The owners manual says its a security light. The truck did not have factory keyless entry and has a plain black key. The horn dosent honk when you open the door nor does the vehicle not start. I installed a python model 500 alarm. Everything works fine, the only problem im having is the red light flashing constantly on the dash. Any info is appreciated.mexicang

your key and remote are 1 unit, and that vehicle has a skim key which is a transponder based immobilizer system, the light flashes as a warning as if it had a full blown security system, fords have been like this forever also

He just said that he has a black key, with no keyless entry. mexi, I've never seen that kind of key on a Ram before, but that's interesting. Did you buy the truck brand-new this way, or is used? Does the truck have many options? What wires at the keyswitch did you interface with? Did you hook up starter kill? If so, how/where?

your right chris i guess i was speed reading thru it, and skipped over the no keyless part! lol i have never seen this either, then again i did do a starter on a chrysler execs, 06 ram that had the remote keys but also had a black headed key that started the truck, that was odd also, but mexi, does this light flash all the time? key on or off? if so that is even weirder yet, if you recently bought the truck from a dealer and have had no luck finding info in your owners manul, i would inquire at the service dept of your dodge dealer, if you find out post it here so that we may all gain some education thanx
