Hello-
I searched out all things Porsche here and did NOT find anything specific to my car. Please help before I am forced to take the car to someplace like Best Buys!!!
I have found wiring callouts here for 2000 and 1999 Boxsters but my car is not either of them.
My car is a 2003 911 Carrera Targa.
It is the first model year of the fiber optic MOST systems but being that I am putting in all new stuff, it doesn't matter much.
What I am need of is clarification of wires that I have and wires that I have not found yet.
Wires I have but don't know what they do:
grey/pink
yellow/black
RED / black
brown
BLACK/ blue
green
WHITE/ red
black
yellow
Wires that I am looking for specifically:
Illumination
VSS
Reverse
ACC
Remote turn on
Power Ant (lead to go to ant. booster in pillar)
I compared the wires I have in the car to the wire callouts on the schematics I have but the schematics do NOT tell me where they go or what they are for other than the Mute and Back Up wire.
Please help. I am nearly complete aside from making the faceplate and running speaker wires.
bob.

Here's a few questions for ya ,

I do Alot of biz with a Porsche Dealer - the radio you have might be a CD223 or CDR220, CD223.- These units are Fiber Optic output to the OEM BOSE System - Typically the Changer is still done as a seperate plug -

What radio do you have ?

Have CD Changer?

BOSE ?

Specifically my car came with the High End Bose system, whatever that means. This is the CDR23 unit coupled with the sub and amp.
I am putting in a Pioneer AVIC-Z2 and a JL Audio 500/5 amp. Later in the summer when the Visa bill is paid down, I will replace the stock speakers.
For this application that I am doing, it was my understanding that the optic part is being worked around since I am not using the stock amp. The only digital connection in this car was between the stock head and amp which are both being replaced.
