I'm trying to reuse a Toyota Celica stereo radio cassette player from my wifea '94 Celica. Model # is 86120-12850 s/n 1003017.

The problem: I have applied 12 volts to the radio on the work bench and get no indication of any kind that it is working. I have +12 volts to the both the switched and and constant +12 voly pins and the ground connected back to the power supply. Ant Ideas as to what I'm not connecting? The radio was working when it was replaced.

Thanks for any help

Honestly it sounds like the radio is bad.  I know you said it was working when it was replaced but sometimes just removing a stereo (especially one that old) can cause it not to work.  Assuming you have the appropriate wires and your bench testing equipment is working properly you've done everything right.  That is, constant, switched and ground is all that needs to be wired up--and toyotas don't ground through the antenna.

Yeah, I'm beginning to think so too. Anyway, probably enough effort spent already on it. It's just that I hate to see stuff like this get thrown out, too cheap I guess. Thanks for the input.
