I am about to purchase an 05 avalanche and i would like to install a pioneer AVIC-D3.  The truck has 6-disc bose changer, XM, onstar, steering wheel controls, reare seat audio controls and rear seat entertainment system.

Can i install the AVIC-D3 and still maintain all factory goodies and chimes? What would be needed? I have searched high and low and have found only a few modules but cant come up with an answer on the complete system.

Thanks in advance for any help!

yes can be done , u'll need a metra bypass check onlisting for that, a ant adaptor, and a pac piece to make the streeing wheel contols. dash kit, or mainly the double din brackets. it should be like a 30-50 min install for a professional.
Its true, its true!

Simply put, NO. You are not going to find modules to retain all of that, PERIOD.

you'll be able to retain all the chimes, Onstar, steering wheel controls, rear seat audio, and possibly the rear seat entertainment however you will loose the factory XM. but you can add XM to your D3 so no big deal.

Thanks to everyone for the info.  Seems like people perfer the metra wireining harness with the onstar and chimes, XM is no problem.  I am not overly concerned with the rear seat controls, but if there is a solution for them i would like it, However what modules are around for the RSE?  I have looked at PAC and PIE but either couldnt find stuff there because they dont have anything or becuase i was looking for the wrong things.

Thanks Again,

J
