i got a 2001 nissan maxima all i'm getting is static over the speakers any ideas?

sounds like u might have a bad speaker, pull the radio, and check the ohm load of each speaker, while ur in there make sure all the wiring is pluged in good. hope this helpd

Only static no matter what the source, or are you talking radio reception? Is it an aftermarket radio? What kind? Are you running an amplifier? Aftermarket speakers?

its a stock radio. was working now theres only static. the problem is someone has been in there before me so I'm thinking its something they did.

I didn't finish answering the last post. there is no amp but it has been wired for one aftermarket speakers I don't know and my buddy is in Iraq so he not around to ask.
